During their Umrah trip to Saudi Arabia, Muslims can visit different holy places in Makkah thanks to the work of other companies. The following are some of the areas in Makkah that have been important to Islam throughout history:
Masjid Al-Haram
People
say that the Masjid Al Haram is the biggest mosque in the world. During Hajj,
Muslims from all over the world come to perform holy deeds. This big mosque can
fit millions and millions of pilgrims at once. People say that this is the most
sacred place in Makkah. Khana Kaabah is the name of the most famous cube-shaped
building in Masjid Al-Haram. The Grand Mosque also has a well of Zamzam water.
People drink this water and even take baths because it's good for their health.
Muslims believe this mosque is the most important and holy, and they want to go
there at least once. It is the same place that Muslims walk around seven times
in a counterclockwise direction during Umrah. It is called Tawaf.
Mina
The
Valley of Mina is about 3 miles east of Makkah. It is also known as the City of
Tents. Tents with air conditioning make this place look more excellent. There
are more than 100,000 of them. People usually go to Mina during Hajj, but they
can also go there when they are doing Umrah. Pilgrims perform the ritual of
stoning the devil at Mina as part of Hajj. Muslims come here even on the Umrah
tour, but Mina is usually closed, so Mina can only be seen from afar.
Muzdalifah
This
spot is a flat, open area between Mina and Arafat. Muzdalifah is also usually
visited during Hajj, but people doing Umrah can also go there and pray to Allah
Almighty to get his blessings. Most of the time, pilgrims stay in Muzdalifah
until late at night. They even sleep outside and get up early to pray Fajr at
Muzdalifa and ask Allah Almighty to forgive them.
Cave
Hira
The
famous place called Cave Hira is also a holy place because it was there that
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) got his first messages from Allah Almighty in 610 BC.
This cave is on Jabal e Noor, also called Mount Al Noor. During their Umrah Trip to Makkah, pilgrims stop here. It is the cave where the Prophet (PBUH)
stayed most of the time to pray to God and think about things all day and
night.
Jannat
Ul Mu'alla
Jannat
Ul Mu'alla is a sacred graveyard in Makkah. Pilgrims usually go there to visit
the graves of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) friends, such as Hazrat Khadija, Hazrat
Abdullah Bin Zubair, Hazrat Abu Talib, Hazrat Qasim, and many other Sahaba
Ikram. This cemetery is about 10 minutes from the Holy Mosque, and many of the
Prophet's (PBUH) family members are also buried there.
